GOOD FRIDAY Service, Friday, April 7th at 7:00 p.m.
Please join us for Good Friday Service at Faith Church for an experiential walk, with Jesus, to the cross through readings in the Gospel of John. We all wear black and mourn the death of Jesus and honor the defeat of our sin.
Surely, he has borne our griefs and carried our sorrows: Yet we esteemed him stricken, smitten by God, and afflicted. Isaiah 53:4
God proves his love for us in that while we were still sinners Christ died for us. Romans 5:8
Christ bore our sins in his body on the cross, that we might die to sin and live for righteousness. 1 Peter 2:4
Fear and fascination drew observers to the first Holy Friday. These emotions have attracted people ever since. We cannot flee from the pain and suffering that Jesus experienced on our behalf. We wonder why one so faithful and loving had to face the agony of rejection and death. Jesus was wounded for our transgressions, and was bruised for our iniquities. In this time of worship, we join Christ at Calvary, aware of our involvement in the cruelty there. Our faithfulness is tested at the cross and our lives are judged by our response.
EASTER Service, Sunday, April 9th at 10:00 a.m.
Please join us on Easter Sunday at Faith Church in Windsor as we celebrate the resurrection of Jesus and his victory over death. We all wear bright colors in celebration of the victory of God.
Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! By his great mercy he has given us a new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, and into an inheritance that is imperishable, undefiled, and unfading, kept in heaven for you. 1 Peter 1:3-4
